  We have got the Borough to agree to install CCTV on the Alderley Edge High Street. We are requesting that local business's and the community make donations so that we may extend the coverage and make better facilities available. If you feel able to support this please contact the Parish clerk or use email contacts on this website.

  More coverage and more facilities will make us all more secure, CCTV is a proven deterrent to crime and antisocial behaviour

Alderley Edge : Poem

It’s wonderful at Alderley Edge.

I went there on Sunday afternoon.

The bracken smelt lovely,

I could hear birdsong wherever I went.

I could hear twigs snapping under my feet,

and the velvety moss felt beautiful.

It was dark and damp in the caves

but the rocks were turquoise, orange, yellow and blue.

The long branches of the tall trees were stretching

right out over the Edge.

The roots were holding on for dear life.

The sun was coming through the leaves

making them luminous green.

Big boulders tumbling over the edge

Round red berries and perfect pinecones,

and a view that spreads out for miles and miles.

 

Will this be a dream some day?

Dreams disappear and they are not real any more

So don’t let this one fade away.
